Subject: Job Application for Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am enclosing my resume  in response to your advertisement of monitoring and evaluation assistant position in Health and Nutrition Program. As chief division of public relation in Biostatistics Student Association in my university, I was involved in research and various data analysis. I was exposed to full range of health programs including planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating during six months internship program in Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia.
I am pursuing my final year on Public Health in University of Indonesia. Throughout my education years, I have been actively involved in data analysis from univariate to multivariate level. I am skilled in operating various data analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, Epi Data. My core duties in Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia during internship program involved assessing and analyzing health programs. I am sure that my previous work experience as assistant lecturer gives me an insight in value of professional work. I am more than willing to contribute my skills and knowledge as public health graduate in helping world communities improving their life. I am ready to improve my proficiency in monitoring and evaluating program to meet your job requirements.
Having served tenure as Liaison Officer during 26th SEAGAMES 2011, my communication and interpersonal skills were greatly polished. Being interested in communication and public relation, I am a member of public relation team in the University Student Council. This role has taught me to organize activities that give me an insight in leadership skills. Selected as Chief of Marketing and Public Relation division in 2010 at the biggest art festival in my university, I led a team of 20 students to secure sponsorship and media partners for the event. This immensely helped me to learn about managing and leading a team.
I am currently pursuing a semester in National University of Singapore as an exchange student. For this exchange program I have been selected by Temasek Foundation as a LEaRN scholar (Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking scholarship). During this semester, I have involved myself in various Community Services as a part of the scholarship program.  Being the first time living outside Indonesia, it has helped me broaden my view, live independently as well as make friends and network among people from other parts of the world.
I am passionate about working for the community. Wanting to help other people to get better life, I am ready to contribute in one of 41 branch of office of Mercy Crops. Being the one of the biggest organization in the world, this job will enable me participate in improving the living standards of world society. This opportunity also will help me grow as a human being while being employed and add to my knowledge on public health in a practical life scenario.  I believe my research experiences coupled with leadership and interpersonal skills make me an ideal candidate for this position.
I am attaching my resume with this letter. If I can provide you with any further information on my background and qualifications, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your consideration.
Your Sincerely,

Hafizah

  1. hi Fiza!

Very nice that you put down all your qualifications. It does seem to the reader that you're highly qualified with all the positions and internships that you've held.

You might want to find out the name of the hiring manager so that your application letter shows you as a proactive person.

Quite a few of your paragraphs begin with the word "I". You might want to vary the begining of your sentences and paragraphs so that you come across as being able to write well.

All the best for you rewrite!

  2. Hello Fiza!

Good to see that you showed the company your experience in monitoring and analysis of data which is required for the job!! Oh and its interesting to know your involved in the 26th Sea Games too!

It would be good if your could write a sentence like calling them back in 2 weeks time to check your application outcome. This is a form of showing initiative as mentioned by Miss Lim in class.
